“I discovered a passion for training in the fall of 2008 after gaining the dreaded college “freshman fifteen.” I was bored with the traditional gym routine and sick of not seeing results. Over the past four years I have dedicated myself to learning the most effective methods of strength and fitness training. I have worked primarily in the CrossFit setting but have had the privilege to expand my knowledge base in strength and nutrition outside of the “functional fitness” moniker. I worked for 3 years at one of the first and most successful CrossFit gyms in the nation at CrossFit Wilmington in Wilmington, NC. There I learned the benefits of utilizing multiple styles of training elicit fitness results.
I do not believe in adhering to one specific model of training. There are positives and negatives to most programs marketed today. My goal is to bring about an increase in a broad range of fitness, from maximal strength, to endurance, to sport specific training. Balcones CrossFit is the culmination of my desire to see others reap the benefits of strength and fitness training. Teaching and guiding others is something that I truly have a passion for; my goal is to see every person who walks in the door of BCF realize their maximum potential.”

“I was introduced to CrossFit by my brother in November of 2008. I had competed in a variety of sports for most of my life, but once I enrolled in UNC Wilmington I was missing that competitive drive. CrossFit gave me that back. I was able to compete with myself, my brother, and eventually others when I joined a local affiliate. I became passionate about fitness and the community that is CrossFit so I became certified as a trainer in 2009. I have experience in different levels of CrossFit competition as well as Olympic lifting. I look forward to the challenge that each workout brings and want to bring that excitement and and passion for fitness to the members of Balcones CrossFit.”
