“I discovered a passion for training in the fall of 2008 after gaining the dreaded college “freshman fifteen.” I was bored with the traditional gym routine and sick of not seeing results. Over the past five years I have dedicated myself to learning the most effective methods of strength and fitness training.  I have worked primarily in the CrossFit setting but have had the privilege to expand my knowledge base in strength and nutrition outside of the “functional fitness” moniker.  I worked for 3 years at one of the first and most successful CrossFit gyms in the nation at CrossFit Wilmington in Wilmington, NC.  There I learned the benefits of utilizing multiple styles of training elicit fitness results.

I do not believe in adhering to one specific model of  training.  There are positives and negatives to most programs marketed today. My goal is to bring about an increase in a broad range of fitness, from maximal strength, to endurance, to sport specific training.  Balcones CrossFit  is the culmination of my desire to see others reap the benefits of strength and fitness training.  Teaching and guiding others is something that I truly have a passion for; my goal is to see every person who walks in the door of BCF realize their maximum potential.”

“I was introduced to CrossFit by my brother in November of 2008.  I had competed in a variety of sports for most of my life, but once I enrolled in UNC Wilmington I was missing that competitive drive.  CrossFit gave me that back.  I was able to compete with myself, my brother, and eventually others when I joined a local affiliate.  I became passionate about fitness and the community that is CrossFit so I became certified as a trainer in 2009.  I have experience in different levels of CrossFit competition as well as Olympic lifting.  I look forward to the challenge that each workout brings and want to bring that excitement and and passion for fitness to the members of Balcones CrossFit.”

I played sports through high school and played college rugby at UNC-Chapel Hill in North Carolina. I was introduced to CrossFit by Tanner in 2011 and joined CrossFit Wilmington in May 2011. I have competed at local events and enjoy the challenge afforded by the workouts. I also enjoy taking my fitness outside the gym. I got my level 1 certification in July 2012 and have enjoyed coaching as much as I do participating in the workouts.

“I’ve been CrossFitting since 2009, and coaching since the start of 2012.  I wasn’t an athlete at all growing up, but grew an interest in my physical health in college.  I started just running and swimming a little, eventually started playing league sports, and finally decided the next step was to actually spend some time training in the gym.  I joined a CrossFit gym, and was pretty suspicious at first, but after 6 months or so of doing it sort’ve half-way, I bought in.  I’ve learned a ton since and can’t imagine turning back.”

“I joined Balcones CrossFit when it opened in December 2012 and I fell in love with it. I was able to get a great workout in and actually enjoyed doing it. The more I went, the more I realized how much I enjoyed it. It was great seeing all of the positive changes in myself and others. When the opportunity arose to join the Balcones CrossFit Instructor Training program I jumped at the chance. I got my CrossFit Level 1 Certification in August 2013. I am now able to help others reach their goal through this program that I fell in love with. I enjoy getting my butt kicked by a WOD but what I enjoy even more is the ability to help others become healthier and happier which is what I have become since joining Balcones CrossFit.”

“I have been involved in the fitness world for over 9 years, with an emphasis on personal training and special populations. I competed in soccer in high school and went on to become a 4-year member of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Women’s Soccer Team. I stumbled upon the infamous “Nasty Girls” CrossFit video in 2007 and have been enthralled with CrossFit ever since, deciding to attend the CrossFit Level 1 Seminar in July of 2013. I have a passion for providing athletes with the tools they need to not only reach their fitness and health goals, but also improve their quality of life.”

“I played baseball at Pflugerville high school. I coached at Zone Four Baseball while in College. My first CrossFit workout was Fran at an Anytime Fitness, and it wrecked me, I rolled around the floor attempting not to completely freak the people on the treadmill out. Since then I’ve been hooked.
I have a passion for working with others, and live for those “aha” moments. Helping people reach their max potential, learn something new, and watch their success never ceases to amaze me.”
